Discontinuities in a one-dimensional map describing a hysteretic chaotic circuit

The dynamic behaviour of a nonlinear electric circuit containing a hysteret ic cell is shown to be reflected in a 1-dimensional map. Basic properties o f the map, like non-invertibility, discontinuity and smoothness, are discus sed in terms of some significant parameters.
