Abstract
A new type of constrained-geometry complex, [eta (5):eta (1)-RC2B9H9-CH2NMe 2]TiCl2 (3), based on the dimethylamino dicarbollyl ligand has been prepare d and characterized by B-11, C-13, and H-1 NMR spectroscopy. This complex i s the first example of a compound containing the "CGC-type" dicarbollyl lig and for titanium in its highest (4+) oxidation state. Complexes 3 in the pr esence of MMAO exhibit moderate catalytic activities for the ethylene polym erization but produce high-molecular-weight polymers.
