Abstract
Stillborn fetuses commonly demonstrate three mechanisms of death: hydrops, asphyxia, or shock. For each mechanism, the autopsy can discover any of mul tiple etiologies. This paper reviews the etiologies and pathogeneses of fet al death from that perspective.
