Abstract
Quantum tunneling in nanomagnets finds a natural description in terms of in termediate spin. Periodic magnetic effects correspond to a change of flux b y the flux quantum Phi (0). Schrodinger cat states with different superposi tions of the applied magnetic field occur. The molecular magnet Fe-8 is dis cussed and new effects are predicted for Mn-12.
