A series of clathrochelate alpha -dioximates and oximehydrazonates with api
cal long-chain paraffin and allyl substituents has been synthesized and cha
racterized by X-ray analysis. For the hexadecylboronic FeNx(3)(BHd)(2) comp
lex (where Nx(2-) is the cyclohexanedion-1,2-dioxime dianion) in the temper
ature range 100-305 K, two structural phase transitions have been detected
by X-ray diffractometry and Fe-57 Mossbauer spectroscopy. (C) 2001 Elsevier
