Abstract
The effects of the addition of promoter into the Fe2O3/Al2O3 catalyst on th e styrene formation from the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene in the presenc e Of CO2 were observed. On the addition of alkali earth metal oxides, the o rder of their effectivenesses were Ba > Sr(equal sign with dot above and be low)Ca > none > Mg at initial stage of the reaction (25 min), and, even aft er 6 hours, the promoting effects of Ba and Sr were observed. As metal oxid es other than alkali earth metals, Cr and Zr oxides were also effective.
