Abstract
We examined 330 patients with ischemic stroke and chronic cerebrovascular d isease (CVD). 48 healthy volonteers were also observed. in both patients an d controls we studied risk factors and data acquired by Doppler investigati on of extra- and intracranial vessels, brain MRI and CT. We describe the fo llow-up of risk factors in patients with chronic CVD including those cases in which stroke ensued as complication.
