Dj. Perreault et Jg. Kassakian, DISTRIBUTED INTERLEAVING OF PARALLELED POWER CONVERTERS, IEEE transactions on circuits and systems. 1, Fundamental theory andapplications, 44(8), 1997, pp. 728-734
This paper introduces a distributed approach to interleaving parallele
d power converter cells, Unlike conventional methods, the distributed
approach requires no centralized control, automatically accommodates v
arying numbers of converter cells, and is highly tolerant of subsystem
failures, A general methodology for achieving distributed interleavin
g is proposed, along with a specific implementation approach, The desi
gn and experimental verification of a 50 kHz prototype system is prese
nted, and quantitative performance comparisons are made between synchr
onized clocking, independent clocking, and interleaved clocking of the
converter cells, The experimental results corroborate the analytical
predictions and demonstrate the tremendous benefits of the distributed
interleaving approach.
