This paper describes the study of active noise control schemes using t
wo-degree-of-freedom control based on model matching for a one-dimensi
onal exhaust duct. In this study, at first, the models are identified
using measured frequency responses. Then the feedback controller is de
signed by using H-infinity control theory and the feedforward controll
er is designed by using model matching theory. Simulations and experim
ents are carried out using the designed controllers. The experimental
results show a good agreement with the simulation results, and noise r
eduction of more than 15 dB is obtained over the frequency range from
100 Hz to 500 Hz at the microphone location.
