T. Shibasaki et al., Effect of testosterone replacement therapy on serum PSA in patients with Klinefelter syndrome, ARCH ANDROL, 47(3), 2001, pp. 173-176
The effect of testosterone replacement therapy on serum prostate-specific a
ntigen (PSA) was investigated in 11 patients with Klinefelter syndrome. Sig
nificant increases in serum testosterone level and prostate volume were obs
erved after testosterone replacement therapy. However, serum PSA level did
not change after testosterone replacement therapy. It would appear that ser
um PSA is not influenced by exogenous testosterone in patients with Klinefe
lter syndrome.
