New SiC materials with a broadened range of performance

Sintered SiC-materials are now being used extensively in the construction o f apparatus used by the chemical industry due to the advantages inherent to this material. However, for certain applications the properties of the SiC -material were not favourable. This article presents a new base of sintered SiC-materials that distinguish themselves by their capacity to be used in other fields. The characteristics of the material, the application possibil ities and also limitations are portrayed in the following.
