p-Sulfonatocalix[6] arene is shown to form insoluble complexes with poly( a
llylamine hydrochloride) when the charge balance between the negative calix
arene sulfonate groups matches the positive charge carried by the polyelect
rolyte, this makes this glycosylaminoglycan analog an interesting candidate
for controlled release systems in the case of proteins encapsulated in mes
oscopic complexes with polyelectrolytes.
