Abstract
Phosphonate esters react with gamma -alumina under microwave (MW) irradiati on; this reaction is a simple preparative method to graft organic pendant g roups onto the surface of alumina; the efficiency of the grafting was readi ly checked by solid-state NMR techniques (P-31 and Al-27).
