Adsorbents with a developed micropore volume (up to 0.34 cm(3)/cm(3)) and h
igh sorbing power for oxygen, carbon dioxide, and xenon can be obtained by
an industrial scheme from stock containing petroleum pitch as binder or pit
ch copolycondensate as base. Medium combustion loss adsorbents are characte
rized by high sorption activity in absorption of arsenic from wastewaters.
They can be used as recovery adsorbents for absorption and concentration of
benzene and toluene and in nuclear power plants, transport, and units for
regulating the composition of the air in product and vegetable warehouses.
