Abstract
IgE receptors are implicated as important components of the immunological p
athway in allergic and inflammatory diseases. Recent investigations have be
gun to unravel the structure, signal transduction and function of IgE recep
tors from different cell types in rodent and human systems. Studies of the
mechanisms involved might provide opportunities for therapeutic interventio
n strategies in the treatment of allergic and hypersensitivity reactions.
