The present review covers various intriguing aspects of psychomotor disturb ances in schizophrenia and depression that are, to a large extent, poorly u nderstood as yet. These include clinical manifestations, prevalence, diagno stic significance, assessment, underlying cognitive and motor processes, an d changes that occur during treatment of the psychotic or depressive disord er.
