Abstract
What would constitute a robot identity? Would a robot developing an identit y be consciousness of the processes that could/would shape its identity? Th is essay explores these questions by considering images common to both, fut ures studies and science fiction-in particular, the now famous anti-capital ist demonstrations in Seattle in November 1999.
