Abstract
A total of 78 correctional inmates were surveyed anonymously on their views about the purpose and use of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personali ty Inventory-2 (MMPI-2) when it is administered as part of a correctio nal intake evaluation. Most of the inmates had a relatively realistic view about the MMPI-2's purpose and use. A substantial percentage of t he inmates admitted intentionally distorting their self-presentation. Implications of these findings for the MMPI-2's use in corrections are discussed.
