Abstract
The sensitivity of eigenvalues to the location of bracing and/or bound ary support is formulated by using a generalized variational principle . The constraints are incorporated through the use of Lagrange multipl iers. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the proposed metho d and its accuracy in application.
