Abstract
5-Aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2(3H)-thiones are ribosylated by reaction with 1-O- acetyl-2,3,5-tri-O-benzoyl-D-ribofuranose, followed by debenzoylation, to g ive novel 1,3,4-oxadiazole nucleosides in good yields, one of which reacted with aniline to yield the corresponding 3,4-diaryl-1,2,4-triazole nucleosi de.
