J. Zhou et Gr. Oldham, Enhancing creative performance: Effects of expected developmental assessment strategies and creative personality, J CREAT BEH, 35(3), 2001, pp. 151-167
This study examined the independent and joint effects of expected developme
ntal assessment strategies (self-administered, other-administered, and no a
ssessment) and creative personality on individuals' creative performance. D
ata were collected from 68 participants who performed a role-playing task i
n a laboratory setting. Results showed that individuals exhibited the highe
st creative performance when they expected a self-administered assessment (
i.e., an opportunity to assess their own work in order to develop their cre
ativity-relevant skills) and had creative personalities.
