Abstract
Endemic enteric fever is one of the major health problems in South Asia whe re focal pyogenic infections with salmonella are being increasingly reporte d. A pericardial abscess following coronary artery bypass surgery with Salm onella paratyphi B was successfully treated, the first reported case so far . (C) 2001 The British Infection Society.
