Abstract
We study the question of whether the Morava K-theory of the classifyin g space of an elementary abelian group V is a permutation module (in e ither of two distinct senses, defined below) for the automorphism grou p of V. We use Brauer characters and computer calculations. Our algori thm for finding permutation submodules of modules for p-groups may be of independent interest.
