The head-tail (HT) sequence length distributions (SLDs) of poly(3-alkylthio
phenes) (P3ATs) and related polymers may be obtained from the H NMR spectra
. The results show that the regioregular polymers, i.e., those with the hig
hest HT content, have broader SLDs than the less regular polymers. The SLD
may be used to simulate the characteristic profiles of the pi-pi* absorptio
n peaks of P3ATs and related polymers.
