Abstract
The spontaneous polarization and depolarization in order-disorder ferroelec trics are studied using a Monte Carlo computer simulation method. Our study has been developed in a framework of the transverse field Ising model with the nearest-neighbor interaction. Two effects of tunneling frequency and e xternal electrical field on the polarization and depolarization are taken i nto consideration. From our simulation results, the polarization of order-d isorder ferroelectrics decreases significantly with the increase in tunneli ng frequency. The remnant polarization and the saturation coercive force of these ferroelectrics are also calculated, and a good agreement with previo us theoretical and experimental results is obtained.
