Abstract
Leading order cross-sections for the production of charm quarks, e(+)e(-) - -> e(+)e((e) over bar )X, at high transverse momenta are calculated for bot h linear e(+)e(-) and photon colliders. The sensitivity of this process to the parton distribution parametrizations of real photons, especially the gl uon content, is tested for both accelerators. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V .
