Abstract
The first operation of cavity lasing of a two-photon absorption (TPA) organ ic dye, trans-4-[p-(N-ethyl-N-hydroxyethylamino) styryl]-N-methylpyridinium iodide (HEASPI), by using picosecond infrared laser as pump source is repo rted in this paper. Temporal profile of cavity lasing shows obvious oscilla tions, and magnification of the feedback light can be obtained. By using th e difference of re-absorption coefficient at different conditions, we expla ined the blue shift for cavity lasing and superradiance compared with TPA-i nduced fluorescence. The lifetime of TPA-induced fluorescence is measured t o be 134 ps.(C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
