Coulomb dissociation of a fast pion into two jets - art. no. 097506

We calculate the electromagnetic contribution to the scattering amplitude o f pion diffractive dissociation into dijets. which is described by one-phot on exchange. The result shows that the factorization procedure known for th e description of exclusive reactions holds also for this quasiexclusive pro cess. We find that the longitudinal momentum distribution of dijets does no t depend on the form of the pion distribution amplitude. We discuss the mag nitude of the cross section.
