Abstract
This paper details a simple method using Fourier transform infrared spectro scopy (FTIR) for determination of the composition of styrene-glycidyl metha crylate copolymers. An FTIR calibration curve based on prepared mixtures of styrene and glycidyl methacrylate monomers at known compositions was obtai ned. Composition determination of synthesized styrene-glycidyl methacrylate copolymers was performed based on the FTIR calibration curve. The FTIR res ults were validated and are in good agreement with determination of epoxy s ide groups in the glycidyl methacrylate monomer by a modified titration met hod.
