Abstract
Based on the data of Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy, spect rometric oil analysis (SOA) and other routine methods, the experiment of oi l monitoring for steering propellers is discussed. The experiment demonstra tes the FTIR spectroscopy can rapidly and easily obtain the results in labo ratory analysis, and combine with spectrometer oil analysis, complementary information is most effective to condition monitoring of marine machinery.
