Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explore the concept of asymptotic (respecti vely exponential) regional boundary detectability in connection with the ch aracterizations of sensors. We consider a class of parabolic distributed sy stems and we give various results related with different types of measureme nts, of domains and boundary conditions. We also present some original resu lts concerning diffusion systems which allow the possibility to construct a n asymptotic (respectively exponential) regional boundary observer.
