Abstract
New geometry of ceramic tubular membranes were designed to overcome the imp ortant problem of fouling encountered in micro- and ultrafiltration, by pro moting turbulence and particle draining close to the membrane surface. Micr ofiltration tests showed the efficiency of these new membranes and a hydrod ynamic study was carried out to improve our knowledge on the antifouling ph enomenon achieved with these membranes. The potential application of these new membranes for an industrial development was also investigated. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
