Abstract
The low UF or NF membranes performances depend mainly on the nature of the interactions between the solutes and the material membrane especially for t he filtration of electrolyte solutions by means of charged ceramic membrane s. The results of filtration obtained for different electrolyte solutions w ith two kinds of membranes, a monolayer TiO2 (50%) ZnAl2O4 (50%) membrane a nd a bilayer TiO2-ZnAl2O4 membrane are in agreement with the variation of t he surface charge of the membrane which can be followed by either the strea ming potential across the membrane or the electrophoretic mobility of the p owder material.
