Abstract
Four-step synthesis of achiral and chiral 4-(1-pyrrolidinyl)-2(5H)-thiophen ones with 61 and 66% overall yields are described. The gamma -alkylation re action studies and synthetic applications toward the thiolactomycin analog are also reported. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
