Abstract
Cyclic and acyclic ketene aminals with different electron withdrawing group s reacted with aryl isothiocyanates to give the corresponding alpha - carbo n adducts in high yield which underwent oxidative cyclization with bromine to afford isothiazole compounds in moderate yield.
