The title compound, C25H18Cl2N5O6P3, consists of a nonplanar trimeric phosp hazene ring, one bulky 2,2'-methylenebis(4-nitrophenoxy) side group, two ci s-Cl atoms and two geminal phenyl groups. The P-Cl bond lengths are 1.9930 (12) and 1.9970 (12) , while the P-N and P-O distances are 1.568 (3)-1.617 (3) and 1.594 (2)-1.604 (2) Angstrom. The core bond angles Cl-P-N, Cl-P-O, P-N-P, N-P-N and N-P-O are 106.9 (1)-110.2 (1), 97.9 (1)-102.5 (1), 118.8 ( 2)-123.1 (2), 115.6 (1)-118.7 (2) and 106.4 (1)-111.2 (1)degrees, respectiv ely. In the 2,2'-methylenebis(4-nitrophenoxy) side group, the phenyl rings are almost perpendicular to each other.
