Abstract
The crystal structure determination of one of the substituted alpha -chrome ne components isolated in the hexane extraction of the fruit of the indigen ous Australian tree Melicope ellyrana, the methyl ether of the known compou nd alloevodionol, is reported. In this compound, 1-(5,7-dimethoxy-2,2-dimet hyl-2H-1-benzopyran-8-yl)ethanone, C15H18O4, the methoxy groups are approxi mately coplanar with the aromatic ring, while the acetyl group is normal to the ring.
