Abstract
Type I second-degree atrioventricular block with bundle branch block must n ot be automatically labeled as atrioventricular nodal, because in this sett ing, type I block occurs in the His-Purkinje system in 60% to 70% of cases. The prognosis of type I infranodal block is poor and a permanent pacemaker is usually recommended even in an asymptomatic patient.
