Computing and networking at JINR

This paper describes the computing and networking facilities at the Joint I nstitute for Nuclear Research. The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JI NR) is an international intergovernmental organization located in Dubna, a small town on the bank of the Volga river 120 km north from Moscow. At pres ent JINR has 18 Member States. The Institute consists of 7 scientific Labor atories and some subdivisions. JINR has scientific cooperation with such sc ientific centres as CERN, FNAL, DESY etc. and is equipped with the poweful and fast computation means integrated into the worldwide computer networks. The Laboratory of Information Technologies (LIT) is responsible for Comput ing and Networking at JINR.
