B. Muller et A. Holland, STABILIZATION OF ALUMINUM PIGMENTS IN WATER-BORNE SYSTEMS BY PAINT RESINS, Surface coatings international, 80(7), 1997, pp. 321
Aluminium pigments react in aqueous alkaline ink or paint media with t
he evolution of hydrogen which con be measured gasvolumetrically. This
corrosion reaction con be inhibited more or less by the addition of d
ifference point resins. In particular, drying olkyd resins performed v
ery well. The corrosion inhibition was better at pH 8 than at pH TO. I
n many cores the evolution of hydrogen was inhibited completely at pH8
.
