Abstract
Transmission at 40 Gbit/s, over 1700 km of non-zero dispersion fibre with 1 00 km amplifier spacing is reported for the first time, The demonstration i s enabled by an all-Fibre higher-order-mode dispersion-compensating module (HOM-DCM) and distributed Raman amplification.
