Abstract
40 Gbit/b-based terabit-capacity unrepeatered transmission over 306 kin has been demonstrated for the first time. 100 GHz-spaced 25 x 40 Gbit/s RZ sig nals Were transmitted using, 175 mum(2)-Aeff fibre with Q-factors all bette r than 15.6 dB without using a dedicated pump light transmission fibre for a remote-EDFA.
