Abstract
A novel approach to the Cartesian loop transmitter where the baseband circu itry is replaced with digital signal processing is discussed. The technique eliminates the need for an analogue phase shifter, and simplifies the hard ware architecture. Performance results show a 20 dB reduction of the power amplifier intermodulation distortion for a pi /4-DQPSK, 18 Kbaud signal.
