The main aim of the work was to estimate the interfacial area of two-phase
flow through the structured packing with the aid of CFD methods. A counter-
current gas liquid flow on a different geometry of packing was analysed. Th
e results show that the influence of microstructure on flow hydrodynamics d
epends on physicochemical parameters of considered liquids. The influence o
f liquid and gas velocities on the effective interfacial area was analysed
too.
