Theoretical model is proposed to calculate the local heat transfer coeffici
ent alpha which depends on the friction coefficient f on the wall. The mode
l was verified basing on the experimentally determined distributions of the
coefficient alpha at the vertical wall of a slender jacketed vessel. The d
istributions of the friction coefficient were measured using the electroche
mical method. Theoretical and thermal measurement results for mechanically
agitated liquid and gas-liquid system are consistent.
