This paper (the first part of the work) is devoted to the general analysis of the application of a uniform approximation approach to solving any probl ems arising at the stage of the geological interpretation of observed gravi ty and magnetic data. A general description of the main classes of these pr oblems is given, and basic approximation constructions are characterized. M ain analytical relationships will be given in the following three parts of the work.
