Excursions in relation to the variation in the Earth's magnetic moment

Based on a revised time scale of excursions in the Brunhes epoch of the geo magnetic field, a relationship is confirmed to exist between excursions and variations in the magnetic moment. Spectral analysis of variations in the magnetic moment and climate with characteristic times of about 10(5) years provided a tentative interpretation of the observed correlation pattern and showed that the eccentricity has no effect on the magnetic moment variatio ns.
