An amorphous Fe67Y33 alloy has been prepared by the melt-spinning method an
d its magnetic properties have been studied. The thermomagnetization curve
is found to obey the Bloch law; spin wave stiffness constant D and the exch
ange constant A were calculated from the experimental results. From an anal
ysis of the approach to saturation magnetization, the local random anisotro
py constant K-L has been extracted. A and K-L are found to decrease with in
creasing temperature. Experimental data show that the ferromagnetic correla
tion R-f increases with increasing temperature. (C) 2001 American Institute
