Abstract
Diarrhetic shellfish poisoning is an illness caused by toxins accumulated i n shellfish and produced by dinoflagellates, mainly of the Dinophysis and P rorocentrum genera. This paper reports the isolation and spectroscopic stru ctural elucidation of a new compound, DTX-6 (2), an ester derivative of oka daic acid (OA) (1), isolated from an artificial culture of strain PLV2 of P rorocentrum lima.
