Abstract
Multiple symmetrical lipomatosis is a rare disorder characterized by p rogressive anomalous deposition position of fat typically located in t he neck and shoulders. Magnetic resonance imaging allows exact definit ion of the abnormal fatty tissue and the involvement of deep structure s. We describe the MR findings in two patients with the typical fat de position in the neck and upper thorax which also presented unusual loc ation of abnormal fat. One patient had laryngeal involvement with fatt y infiltration of true and false cords. The other patient had inguinal and scrotal large deposition of fat.
